We have facilitated and supplement the books available to one of the centers – Changing Young Lives Foundation at Shek Kip Mei. A total of 105 books were purchased from FEML (Bookazine) at a wholesale price.

The lovely book shelf and 93 books were delivered to Changing Young Lives Foundation today. Kids there will be able to access to these books after a Buddy Reading Session.

As part of the commitment to deliver Kids4Kids Buddy Reading Services to various centers, we have made a purchase of the book bag library system and a total of 220 books – all of age appropriate English titles storybooks as part of the books that our volunteer buddy readers will bring with them to each and every sessions.

Through the generous donation support from the Chen Yet-Sen Family Foundation, the book bag library system is installed on Apr 19, 2012.

We have completed Buddy Reading Program 2011 - 2012 Term 2

Last Saturday was the last session of this term of Kids4Kids Buddy Reading program.

This term, we served two community centres: Changing Young Lives Foundation, and Hong Kong Society of Protection for Children. And we have successfully run two Buddy Reading 101 Induction Sessions for new Buddy Readers.

30 volunteers from all over Hong Kong, age from 6 to 21 years old, have participated in our Buddy Reading Program. Around 30 kids at these two centres have enjoyed 4-6 sessions of English Read Aloud.

As the weather getting warmer in Hong Kong, the program is getting hotter and hotter! For next term from April to July, we have demands from Hans Andersen Club and St. James Settlement. Please look forward to next term of Buddy Reading. See you in April!
